NATO Advanced Research Workshop
on
RADIATION INACTIVATION OF BIOTERRORISM AGENTS
7-9 March, 2004 Budapest, HUNGARY

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

This meeting is focused on to assess the further application of radiation technology, especially to inactivate the biological weapon agents. The workshop is interested in discussing: industrial application of ionizing radiation, industrial gamma and electron beam facilities, radiation dosimetry, radiosensitivity of microorganisms, potential agents for biological weapons, chemical and biological terrorism, biological weapons convention, biological threats and responses, detection and identification of biological agents, conventional decontamination technologies, radiation inactivation of biological warfare agents, technological aspects of postal mail irradiation, regulatory aspects of radiation treatment of bioterrorism agents, and other related aspects.

The workshop is limited to a total attendance of 50. The participants will be selected from NATO countries, Partner countries and Mediterranean Dialogue countries. The meeting and the papers will be in English.
